Dundee / Degree Show 2022 / Architecture: Selected Works
Slowly, tentatively, the process of teaching and learning architecture in Dundee has started to lean back towards some kind of normality. As in every other aspect of our lives, this is very welcome.
It has been a joy to see students (some for the first time) starting to become familiar with the collective studio environment in the school. The studio is at the heart of architectural education; and it’s great that we can all benefit from it again… it’s about sharing ideas, discussing the qualities that makes great places and buildings, and borrowing (and then developing) ideas from peers – all of that has been missing in the remote teaching we’ve had to pursue over the last couple of years.
And now (I hope) as in so many other communities, we can look forward with some sense of optimism towards the future. Hopefully the work collected here – which is a celebration of the talent of all students in the Architecture School at the University of Dundee – reflects that sense of optimism.
This article is a credit to all of the students in the school, as well as the staff, who have worked so hard to navigate through the challenges of the last two years.
Congratulations to the students, and best wishes for the future!
