Dundee / Degree Show 2021 / Architecture: Selected Works
Similarly to just about every area of life, teaching and studying architecture has been very different over the last year or so.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, teaching has been carried out almost exclusively online, which has considerably affected the conversations and exchange of ideas which normally underpin the teaching process. By working in their homes, students have been denied the essential collaborative environment that the architecture studio provides.
But in spite of all of this, the work produced by the students has been as interesting, engaging, beautiful and inspiring as it always is. Above all else this is a testament to the students’ commitment, resilience, and determination. While this article contains work from a selection of students across the school; it is a tribute to all of the students (and staff) who have worked so hard over the last year.
Sharing a space, and discussing our ideas openly is the best environment for cultivating architectural proposals; so let’s hope we’ll all be back in the studio soon.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone who submitted work for this article, congratulations and best wishes for the future! See also – similar coverage of the 2017, 2018, 2019and2020 exhibitions.
